Eurocon Instructions

Object: Conquer the kingdom occupied by your rival. If that's too easy for you, to conquer the whole continent of Europe.

How Time Works: The simulation is turn based. Press "E" to end your present turn, cycling through time. Before the turn is ended, you may initiate orders to start construction projects, launch crusades, meet with neighboring kings, attack neighboring kings, etc. Passing time with the "E" key brings crusades closer to their destination, construction projects closer to completion, and gives neighboring kingdoms the chance to attack YOU.

How the Economy Works: Each farmer creates 2 food each turn. Each person consumes 1 food. Each miner (if a mine has been built) creates 1 ore a turn. Each smith (if a smithy has been built) converts 1 ore to 1 arms a turn. To make a soldier uses 1 arm. The more soldiers you have, the more likely you are to win a battle. If you have more than 50 food stockpiled, there is a chance a new farmer will be born. If you build a marketplace, you can buy and sell food, ore, and arms from it. Each person pays 1 gold in taxes a turn.

How Diplomacy Works: Every kingdom starts out Neutral, and gradually changes to War. They may be appeased with gifts, pledges of alliance, and trade. Good relations with your neighbors is important to establish early.

How Crusades Work: If you build a cathedral, you can send soldiers on crusades. You may have one crusade sent at a time. After enough turns have passed, the crusaders will reach the Holy Land and you will have an opportunity to fight for a relic. The various relics and their powers may be viewed by pushing "C."

Buildings:
Granary - increases the maximum food storage of that kingdom
Mine - allows production of ore
Smithy - allows conversion of ore to arms
Castle - grants defense bonus to that kingdom in battle
Cathedral - allows the sending of crusades
Marketplace - allows the buying and selling of food, ore, and arms
(Note that you may pay gold to finish a building project ahead of schedule)

Managing your Empire:
"N" - cycles through the kingdoms you have conquered
"T" - allows you to move soldiers from one kingdom to a neighboring one that you control
"O" - shows the map of Europe
"M" - allows you to change people from one occupation to another
"I" - allows you to buy and sell at your marketplace
"S" - brings up the diplomacy menu

All the above games were developed by Chris Guin throughout his middle school, high school, and college careers. In the event that you actually want to steal these games, you can't, because it's copywritten, so there. Also, half the graphics and all the music are stolen already, so isn't it time to put an end to this vicious cycle?
